Hello,
I am experiencing a very strange problem.
I would like to import a Excel worksheet as a linked table. This works as
long as the file is opened in Excel (in the background). As soon as I close
the XLS and Excel itself I cannot access an already setup linked database, it
just outputs the following error message:
"External table is not in the expected format"
(it has not changed since the initial addition as linked table)
If I try to use the wizard to add another table it stops with the error
message:
"The wizard is unable to access information in the file .... Please check
that the file exists and is in the correct format" (it exists and has not
changed either).
As soon as I open the workbook in Excel and repeat the steps above, it works!
Some ideas on how to solve that problem? It is not practible to open 30
workbooks to just use the Access application.
Thank you very much!
