Not able to open a OneNote 2007 document out of a PP slide

When a OneNote note is attached to a word, excel and powerpoint document we
are able to open only the first attachments. It complains for all consecutive
ones. So for example if we open the Note in the word document first, and then
try opening the attachment in Excel, One Note complains "Cannot find file in
specified location". The problem is from within Word OneNote opens the
attachment in the temporary folder and when we try to open the same
attachment from Excel or PowerPoint it tries to assign the same temporary
file name which it did when opening the first and since it is unable to do so
it complains.

Thank you for your help in advance

Pls permit a dumb question:
How do you add an attachment to a Word or Excel file?
I can not find an option in my 2007 versions of the said apps :-( :-(

AFAIK: Right click on container in ON, "insert hyperlink ...", paste in
Word (jump to ON with Ctrl + Click)

Thanks the hint, Bernd.
But this does not mean that something would be "attached". It's just a

Mmmmh ...
In Word 2007 Einfügen --> Objekt --> Aus Datei erstellen --> .one-File =
Abschnitt auswählen ("Verknüpfen" NICHT anklicken).
Nun ist der Abschnitt "embedded". Doppelklick öffnet ON, Änderung nicht
möglich. Nachfolgende Änderung in ON bleibt unbemerkt.
Geht das als Attachment durch ?

Possibly ;-)
But I have no idea on what the *OP* (Ian McKenna) was referring to :-(
