Not able to save to share

Hello.

Our network:
SBS2k3, XP clients & 1 Mac OS X 10.4.6.
Our software:
Word 11.2 (060202)

I am having difficulty saving files to a share from the Macintosh. I am
certain that it is a problem with Word, as I can save to the share
using TextEdit, or if logged on as the same person from an XP machine.

I am certain that the OSX & XP machines are both using the same
credentials, as I have checked in compmgmt.msc -> Shares -> Sessions
and can see the same user.

Additionally, I cannot save to any XP share from this Mac, with this
user, however I can with this user from XP computers.

Interestingly, I can save to smbd 3.0.10-1.4E.2 running on our network
perimeter computer... (all credentials verified via Active Directory on
sbs2003/winbind).

I have found many instances of the following line in the
/var/log/samba/:
