Not able to update task

We are not able to update task from Outlook anymore.

The grid to enter time is gray'd out. What could have triggered this?

We are able to update tasks from PWA but not from Outlook anymore.

Please assist. Thanks.

P.S. We do not use the 'Time sheet' functionality of Project Server.

Hi there,

a few questions for you first:
- what version of Project Server are you using?
- what version of Outlook are you using?
- do you receive any error messages (event logs, application logs, ULS logs)

my opinion is that i would not use the outlook add-in for Project Server if
not possible. I have personally had many issues with this and I this unless
there is really a great need for this, do not use it.

I am sure the solution of this problem is in the article on Using timesheets
with the Project 2007 Add-in for Outlook
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc197408.aspx.
The article says: "If no Timesheet Periods are created or there are no open
periods, hours cannot be entered in the Outlook Timesheet section."

I had exactly the same problem; As my customer did not wish to utilize the
Timesheet functionality, I had not created any Timesheet Periods. After
having created Timesheet Periods, resources can enter task updates through
Outlook.
