"not available" please help

whenever i try to open a saved file, a message says that the file is "not
available". in conjunction, whenever closing word, it ask to save a template,
alwasy called Normal.
i have tried reinstalling word and updating, nothing seems to help!

Disable the Office Plugin that comes with Symantec/Norton AntiVirus.
