Strange error popping up on project 2007 professional plan.

"Not enough common working time"

A task has been encountered that the has task and resources calendars which
do not have enough working time in common for work to be performed on the
task. The task will be scheduled ignoring the resource calendar. To change
how the task is scheduled, try one of the following:
* Change either the task calendar or the calendar of the resource(s).
* Select the Scheduling ignores resouce calendars check box in the Task
Information dialog box to have the Project ignore the resource calendar for
the task.

--------
Some additional informaion:
1) There are no resources assigned to task
2) I did check the task to ignore the resouce calendar.
3) This project has 100 lines, and if I delete the last 4 lines, the error
quits popping up.
4) This is an old project plan from project 98 and imported to project 2007.
5) The tasks deleted, start back in 1/2/84. That's 24 years ago. The
duration is 6989 days.

I can delete the 4 lines and recreate and the problem goes away, plus all
the previous history.

Any suggestions into finding out what causes this error?

If I start a new project file and create a task with a constraint of finish
no later then 31st of august 2008. Then I add a fixed duration of 6900 days
with a standard calendar and I will get the same fault. I guess it is since
there isnt that many working days from 1st of january 1984 (the 1st possible
day to schedule with Project 2007).

I am not sure whether this was your wuestion or not...

Hope this helps,

Paul

Hey Paul,

Thanks for the info. After I posted the problem, I discovered what was
wrong. The Project documentations states that the earlist START DATE is Jan
1, 1984. The start date I am using is Jan 2, 1984. I set the date to Jan
3, 1984 and the problem went away. It may be an error in documentation or
possilble leap year days has effected it. Anyway, I think it must be bumping
up agaisnt one of the project constraints.

Thanks for your help.
