Not enough memory to display picture - word windows 2000

Hello,

HELP, HELP, HELP

I pasted about six pages of images into a doc file (15 on
each page). The
file size is now 1,400 kb. The file saved fine yesterday,
but today the entire file will not load. Giving me an
error there is not enough memory or disk space to display
or print the picture.

I change my virtual memory to the maximum 1152 and
rebooted, but no luck. I have 15G disk space not used.

Help how do I bring up the entire file with all the
images????

Thanks,
Arlene

You say "doc file" but since you posted in the Visio group I'm going to
assume it's a Visio document and not the typical Word doc.

I experienced the same problem with using images in Visio files and the only
solution I found was to increase actual ram; increasing virtual ram had
little or no effect. For my needs, I went from 256 meg to 512 meg to 1 gig
ram before I was able to successfully load/edit/save my file. You don't say
how much system ram you have. Just make sure you use high-quality ram,
especially the type recommended by your PC/motherboard manufacturer. Cheap
ram is the number one cause of system problems in my experience.

In addition, make sure your disk is fully defragmented. In many cases this
means running Windows defrag several times at one sitting or, better yet,
running a more powerful 3rd party defragmenter. Temporarily disable
antivirus, screensavers and other background services beforehand.

Finally, download a handy free utility called RAM Idle to improve memory
handling on your PC. You can find it in the downloads area of
www.pcworld.com. It's helped me tremendously.
