Not enough memory to load graphics

O

Omar

Hi there,

I've got a problem with Microsoft Publisher 2000. Whenever
I try and paste a bitmap, it brings up the message
that "publisher doesnt have enough memory to load graphics
or embedded objects".

Now, this doesnt happen on my 4 years old computer, it
happens on my brand new computer - it has 2.8GHZ, 512MB
RAM, 20GB Hard Drive. Why?

a) What happens if you save the bitmap as a file and import it via Insert >
Picture?
b) Are you running Norton AntiVirus?

a) i saved the bitmap as a file, and it did indeed import
it via insert. thanks

b)i have norton systemworks 2003, but i cant see how that
would make a difference because i have it on both my
computers, and my old one copies into publisher fine.

however, importing it is a long-winded way to do things,
and i still want to be able to copy/paste into publisher.
if it works on my 4-year-old computer, why isn't it
working on my new one? any ideas? thanks in advance

There are some users who have run NAV for years without issue with
Publisher, and some encounter problems straight away.
I suggest disabling Script Blocking and the Microsoft Office PlugIn in
Norton AntiVirus.

Importing the graphic is a far more reliable method than copying/pasting
anyway, especially when it comes to commercial print.

I disabled Script Blocking and the Microsoft Office PlugIn
in Norton AntiVirus. nothing changed. so i totoally
uninstalled norton, and it still doesnt work. i'm using
pub2000 on winXP.
