Not enough Resources

I am using a very large file 8MB+ with links to several other workbooks. WHen
I try to save I get the message that it does not have enough resources and
that it will not save external links. My computer has over 2GB of memory and
more than enough hard disk. I am using Excel 2003 SP2. Any suggestions?
