Not getting footnote preview when hovering over supertext

E

Ed

I'm running Word '07 on Vista at home and Word '07 on XP at the office. At
the office this works fine, but at home it doesn't.

At home, Word doesn't give a little preview box of the text in the footnote
when I hover the mouse over the supertext number within the body of the
document. It shows the little icon that says it's a footnote, but at work
when I do it, it pops up to show me the entire text of the preview.

I've looked through Options and can't see anything to turn on or off. Can
anyone tell me how to mend? I like being able to read the footnote without
double-clicking down to the footer and back again.

Thanks.

Huh?

: I'm not sure. Is that a Word preference or a Windows preference?

: Thanks

Are you asking if the phrase "I'm not sure" is a Word preference or a
Windows preference? Sounds more like a statement of fact to me.

Well, *I'm* not sure.

: Are you asking if the phrase "I'm not sure" is a Word preference or a
: Windows preference? Sounds more like a statement of fact to me.

Suzanne asked if I had ScreenTips enabled and I responded that I wasn't sure,
and was that an option in Word or in Windows? I have no clue what ScreenTips
is.

Well, you should have stayed in your original thread. You started a new one
with no relation to the other.

Huh? I replied to her message. Why is this a thing? Is someone going to
answer my ^&%$ question, or are we just going to chat about this?

When you changed the subject line, newsreaders may interpret that as a new
thread. Your response (to Suzanne) in that post gave no indication what the
heck you were talking about.

It's an option in Word, but since you haven't told us what version you have,
I can't tell you where to find it.

She did state not only her version of word, but also her two Windows versions
as well (re-read the original question as stated by poster).
