hey I'm having this stupid
Microsoft [Insert Program Here] has not been installed for the current user.
Please run setup to install the application.
I went to that microsoft knowledge base article that described how to fix
it. the solutions dont work. I don't get a registry location so I cant do
the first one. I dont have webroot spysweeper, but I did uninstall symantec
client security, and that didnt work.
lastly I went to
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\Microsoft\OFFICE\DATA\OPA11.DAT
and looked at the permissions. all okay. so then I deleted the file
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\Microsoft\OFFICE\DATA\OPA11.DAT
(but not the OPA11.bak)
and it DOESNT WORK!
I uninstalled all office, even office web components, and even deleted the
directory C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\ after it was uninstalled so that
no traces of the program existed. and it STILL doesnt work.
any help is appreciated. I know that if I just make a new account it will
work, but I need this account.
thanks
