Not Responding?

I am having probelms on multiple computers with Outlook
2000 going to not responding. I will be doing anything
from typing an e-mail to updating a contact list when
this happens. I am using windows XP. The program locks
up and then after 30-40 seconds it come back, then it
repeats ever minute or two. I have installed all Office
updates with no luck. Does anyone know what causes this
or how to keep it from happening? Please let me know

Could be trying to retrieve from the mail server.

We have this problem from time to time also; it's your
network polling workstations and updating files. Talk to
your network administrator.
