not using deleted items folder

In XP home, Office Pro 2002, Outlook, when a message is deleted from the
Inbox it is not being put into the Deleted Items folder. It used to do it. I
cannot find where to change or control this function. Please help.

A couple of possibilities... one is that you've inadvertently set Outlook up
to automatically zap deleted messages (apparently without prompting) when
you close Outlook. Check Tools - Options - Other tab, and see if "Empty the
Deleted Items folder upon exiting" is checked.

Another possibility is that you have a view set in the Deleted Items folder
not to display all messages in that folder. Display the Delete Items folder,
then choose View - Current View - Customize Current View, and make sure that
Filter is set to Off. I the word Off doesn't appear to the right of the
Filter button, then click the Filter button and click Clear All.

Hope this helps...

Thanks, however those hints did not reveal any problem.
I do get a message when Outlook is made active 'SBCMSYNC.dll could not be
installed or loaded'
Further help would be appriciated.
