Not working... help?

I believe I accidentally hit a particular key or series of keys on my
keyboard once, and suddenly the ribbon and everything under the tabs (i.e.
"Home", "Insert", "Page Layout", etc.) on the top menu thing are not working.
I can't even change the size or type of font I'm using! I am totally lost,
and JUST got the insperation I've been waiting for to continue with a story
I'm writing, so quick help from anyone who knows how to solve this problem
would be eternally gracious. Thank you.

Well, yes, thank you, but I don't mean that it disappeared. It's still at the
top of the screen, but whenever I press on any of the icons, such as the
"spell check" icon, it... well, it DOESN'T let me press it. And when I go to
ANY drop down menu, all of the options are light grey, signifying that you
cannot use that option. Nothing works. I can't even type, actually, let alone
change what font I'm using.

Nevermind, I feel stupid. I had to enter my product key, and I hadn't read
the instructions thoroughly enough to know that if I didn't enter it over a
certain amount of time, the application would cease to function until I did
enter it. Nevermind! But thank you.
