Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) I just switched to a mac so i'm trying to relearn everything i've ever known about computers. I am using the notebook layout view for my homework. I added the note flags next to areas that need completed. When I added them everything worked fine. Now after completing more homework, it will not save the note flags when I check them. What am I doing wrong.

Basically, you are "using Notebook Layout View".

You cannot have "Notes" in Notebook Layout View.

Notebook Layout View is a strange cut-down version of a document that was
chucked in at the last minute to try to make Word 2008 more appealing. It
was never ready for prime time...

You will find that there is a heap of things you cannot do in Notebook
Layout View. If you force them (by switching to Page Layout View) you will
find that Word starts crashing and you have a high possibility of being
unable to open the entire document.

You will also find that Notebook Layout View looks a horrible mess on a PC
version of Word.

My advice would be simply "Don't use it".

Instead, investigate Outline View", which is a very powerful tool for
structuring complex documents and is fully compatible cross-platform.

Hope this helps
