Hi all, I just converted "everything" from Lotus Organizer v4.1 to Outlook
2003.
I couldn't get the import utility to work correctly (would only transfer a
few contacts, unable to transfer notes) but successfully did the transfer via
synching to my Palm Pilot and then to Outlook.
The problem I discovered in Outlook is with sorting "Notesâ€. In ORG my note
subjects (600+) looked something like this…
Ad: Packaging
Cat: Furniture
Cat: Tooling
Mfg: ISO9000
The first segment refers to the note’s category.
--> It appears that for whatever reason Outlook ignores this first segment
and sorts on the second segment. Sorting the above looks like this…
Cat: Furniture
Mfg: ISO9000
Ad: Packaging
Cat: Tooling
It also appears that this only applies when the first segment is 1-3 digits
long and has an “:†immediately after it.
Notes with a first segment of 4+ digit categories are sorted properly.
Am I doing something wrong?
Did I uncover an idiosyncrasy of Outlook?
Is there a way to get Outlook to sort this properly?
Or am I stuck editing all of my notes to delete the “:
Thanks
Jim
