Notebook creation blocked

I have OneNote installed on 2 machines I try to keep synched. I have a
OneNote Notebooks folder in my Documents, but no notebooks in it. When I try
to use the creation wizard in ON to create a new shared notebook, I get the
message "Cannot create a notebook at the location specified. The specified
location is a section group inside a notebook that is already open." But
there is no such section group that I can find on either machine. What is the
solution?

OneNote does not support opening notebooks that're located within
another notebook. The most likely cause is that you have the OneNote
Notebooks folder itself already opened as a notebook. If so, open up
OneNote, look at the notebook bar on the left, and close the OneNote
Notebooks notebook. You will then be able to create new notebooks in
that location.

OneNote does not support opening notebooks that're located within
another notebook. The most likely cause is that you have the OneNote
Notebooks folder itself already opened as a notebook. If so, open up
OneNote, look at the notebook bar on the left, and close the OneNote
Notebooks notebook. You will then be able to create new notebooks in
that location.
