Notebooks do not open in default state

How do I get my Notebooks to return to their default state? When I closed a
notebook and then reopened that notebook; it was opened in Sections, instead
of the usual Notebook icons on the left sidebar.

I am using OneNote 2007 with Vista. Thanks,

Hello,

It sounds like you are closing notebooks with several sections inthem and
then re-opening the sections by double clicking the .ONE file.

I recommend just leaving the notebooks open. It saves a lot of time in the
long run and if you have the screen real estate is very easy to do.

If you need to close the notebooks, go to the folder which holds the .ONE
files (the .ONE files are the sections). Right click on the folder name and
select "Open as notebook in OneNote." that will open the notebook
completely, and show all the sections in the notebook.
