Notepad

I have been told that I need to copy and paste to Notepad, then copy and past
to Publisher 2007 for editing? Does that work better than using Word? I'm
trying to reduce the bytes of the finished product so that it doesn't take so
long to download. Also, what is the recommeded pixel size of the pictures?

Maybe your video/graphics driver needs updating. You might try doing some disk
clean-up. Publisher has a compression tool on the picture toolbar. How big is
the newsletter?

Pasting and copying via Notepad strips hidden and/or problematic
formatting from clipboard; particularly from data copied from Internet
Explorer. It otherwise has little effect.

As many pixels as it will take up on screen. Publisher reduces the pixel
size when converting to email format anyway.

If you're serious on producing an HTML newsletter with a minimal size,
your best bet is not to use Publisher.

Thank you Ed. Convert to "email format"? Am I missing a step? What is
better than Publisher for this sort of project?

The Newsletter is 10-12 pages.

I'm converting to a PDF file and sending that as an attachment.

If you aren't converting to email, are you sending out the .pub file?

In that case Publisher is a reasonably good choice; you can reduce the
file size by adjusting the compression options in your PDF program.
