Notes disappearing when Publishing in 2007 (Repost)

I am reposting this as it ha moved down to page 3 and I am not sure if anyone
had a chance to view it, and I am in need of help on this.


Setup: Project Server 2007 SP1, Project Pro 2007 SP1

Problem: When one of my project managers saves and publishes his project
out to our project server all of the notes on his tasks disappear. The notes
Icon still shows on the tasks, but in the ntoes area all that can be sen is
quotation marks ("). You cannot see the notes via PWA or Professional.

Question: Has anyone seen this before, and if so is it a known thing. If
so is there a work around or a fix for this. This project manager relies
heavily on his ntoes pn tasks and if they keep disappearing then this is not
going to be very useful to him.

Any help that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Chris,

A lack of response usuallly means no-one can help you, or we've not seen the
issue. Certainly its a new one for me. Notes of course should be saved and
published, and be available for viewing in PWA.

The only notes related issue that I'm aware of is that the PSI can't handle
them.

I believe there was a reported issue which removed notes when you use
calculated flag fields. See:

Hi Chris,

We are having the same problem. You enter information into the "Notes"
column in Project Pro. For whatever reason, when you publish the plan your
information is replaced with quotation markes (ex: "). It is very
frustrating. I am going to try creating a custom field to use instead of
"Notes". I wish I had a fix the the root problem but don't. Maybe it is not
happening to a lot of users.

we have experienced the same issue. It was resolved by KB 950480.

Hope it will also help in your case.

Thanks for the information on the Hotfix. I will get it from MS and
see if that does indeed resolve our issue. Thanks again to everyone that
posted.
