I don't have a printer connected, so I can't try it out to be sure, but
this is what I suggest.
When you use File>Print, where it says "Print What" choose Notes.
Then change the "Copies and Pages" drop down button to Layout.
Next, change Pages Per Sheet to 2.
If things work as I expect them to, you should get the result you requested.

I don't know if it always works like this, but it seems you can test these
options by setting things up in the print dialog then clicking Preview (or
making a PDF).
