Notes Notebook View - printing lines

E

Elizabeth

Does anyone know if there is a way, after you have taken "notes" in the
notebook view, to print the "lines" or grid along with the text?

And printing the tab information of the "notebook " page?

I have tried Help and various formatting options, but no luck.

I hope there is a way, but if not I need to stop wasting my time trying.

Thanks!!

Hi Elizabeth,

You're the second person to ask this question and the first (a couple months
ago) never got an answer. That usually means that no one knows :).

I'm not in Office 2004 myself so I can't test this for you, but my guess is
that the answer is no. If it were possible, I would expect there would be a
reasonably clear choice to do so in either the Word> Print preferences or
the print dialogue (I assume you checked both).

To request this feature, use the Feedback item on the Help menu.

There's no way within Word (though you should use the Help/Feedback on
Word menu item to tell MacBU to change this).

Notebook view is a new feature, and has lots of room for improvement.
That (and Project Center!) are ripe for adding/modifying features, and
now is a good time to tell the planners what would be useful.

Thanks for both replies. This question was posted in June, and you
probably noticed I essentially copied/pasted his request (that techie
in me is lazy).

I also think if it were available it would be a quick option when
setting up the page to print -- I checked ALL I could thing of and no
luck. (reply 1 follow up). And I will definitely send feedback ASAP to
MacBU to make this possible. (reply 1 and 2 follow up).

Again thank you! This is my first GGroup posting.

Seems like the notebook view in word 2004 has not been completely
thought through. Its little more than outline view with tabs.

For example, it gives you an option of adding flags, but you cannot
search for flags, or list only flags. It creates task in Entourage,
but when the task is updated in Entourage, it is not updated in word,
plus it cnanot be searched either.

There is no way to list open or closed (checked) flags.

Now the question of lines when printing. Seems like it is barely
little more than outline view.

You're right that Notebook view needs work. Please make your suggestions to
Microsoft via the Feedback tool on the Help menu in Word. MS may see your
post here but in case not . . . .

The feedback tool does not allow simple feedback to be given and th
site that it is linking to has navigation which is not useful. You ma
want to just direct link each program to the appropriate feedback tool
or have it auto email microsoft's correct business unit, you would ge
more useful feedback that wa
