Notes Text Disappearing in Project 2007

I have a relatively small project (< 500 tasks). I have notes for a numebr
of the tasks, but the notes text have disappeared. The icon is still
displayed, but when I open up task information, the notes tab is completely
empty.

Has anyone seen this problem in Project 2007? Any ideas how to prevent it?

I had this happen last week, but have not yet found out why. It did not
happen to all Notes in the plan. As you say, the Icon is still there but the
note text is only shown as a single " mark.

I'm having the same issue with Project 2003 but I haven't found any
meaningful resolution for this yet. I thought maybe upgrading would help but
apparently the issue is still there.
