Nothing in Inbox, Sent Items or Unread Mail

I recently configured Outlook 2007 to receive my e-mail. However, when I
click on the Inbox, Sent Items and Unread Mail tabs on the Navigation Pane
the opened page tells me that there are "no items shown in this view".
Similarly when I click on the Inbox etc in Personal Folders I get the same
message. To access my mail I must click on the Navigation Pane and select
"inbox" under my Hotmail account the files for which lie directly under the
Personal Folders files. It's not a major problem but it would be nice to be
able to use the e-mail tabs on the Navigation Pane to access instantly my
messages. Maybe I neglected to make Outlook my default e-mail when I
configured the programme? Is there any way I can rectify this?

Make the Hotmail folder set your delivery location. Click Tools>Account
Settings>Data Files. Select the Hotmail data file and click Set as Default.
Stop and restart Outlook.
