Notification area icon not changing when mail arrives

Outlook: 2007

Previously Outlook, when minimized and new mail arrived, the
notification area icon changed to one with envelopes and would stay.
Now it changes and stays only during the larger screen notification
time.

Any suggestions?

Never seen it as an Outlook issue. Most likely reason is that something is
marking the message as read after it is received. Look for add-ins, rules,
or unnecessary actions like email scanning.

As expected, once I ask for help, it started working again. Thanks,
anyway

BTW, I didn't see any changes to any of the addin's and haven't
removed or added anything to system in the last month.
