notification for tasks

Jason

Hello,
We've created a folder named "Engineering tasks" under the Public Folders.
This folder has sub task folders with each engineer's name. If I have another
person other than the engineer add a task to it, is it possible for that
engineer to get a notification?

p.s. we are using Office 2003

Thank you

yes, you can set up the folder assistant to send a copy of the task to the
engineer.
right click on the folder and choose properties, administration tab. If you
don't see the tab, you don't have owner permission - only the folder owner
can set this up.

Thanks a bunch :)

The admin will need to mail-enable the folder is ESM.

Click add rule - if each engineer has his own folder, click forward to and
enter his address. Then click ok and close the dialog. If they share a
folder you'll need to figure out a way to filter who gets which tasks tasks.

The engineer will receive a copy of the task by email. *This is a copy and
will not effect the original in the public folder.* He can review it then
delete it.

Thank you. One last question: I get an email when someone enters a task for
me, but is there a way to "accept" or "reject" the task? if so, is there an
automated way of sending a response back to the person assigning the task
letting them know if I accepted or rejected the task? Thanks again.
