notification message has vanished?????? help please

i can't believe how insane this is.... about a week ago the wonderful
little semi-transparent email alert notification bubble disappeared....
i am using OUTLOOK 2003 on xp with all the updates and patches. The
advanced email settings are set to be on at 30% transparency and 10
secs... i have turned it off and then on... changed the transparency...
but ????? not bubble... i still get the little tray icon showing new
email and the sound alert... but NO semitransparent bubble... PLEASE
SUGGEST something..

Thanks for the reply.... the answer to your question is NO. I have
experimented whereby Outlook 2003 is the only program running and it is
a small window located in the middle of the screen and I have also
tried minimizing Outlook 2003 and just waiting for the automated email
check... still no alert notification

Move rules precede the desktop alert so it will not show when the mail is moved by rules.

Thanks... but I have always had the rules running and still received the
semitransparent bubble alert notification until a few days ago. I have
turned off the rules and restarted outlook 2003 but still dont have the
alert notification showing up.???????? any other ideas.?
