Notification of assigned issues on PWA site

I know about signing up for alerts but it seems like that when you are
assigned an issue you should get a notfication even if you have not signed up
for an alert.
They sometimes can be high priority and you should get a direct
notification of the issue you are assigned since the owner of the issue
cannot usually make sure that the assigned user is signed up for the alert.

Hi Old School,

When an issue is assigned to a user, this user will receive a notification,
even if he did not set the alert.

No, we weren't getting them so I found it after posting this message. After
much digging I found that I had to go to Site Settings> Modify site content
for the issues and turn on "Send e-mail to person assigned to issue". For
some reason it was off by default.
