Notification of changes to a shared document

Hi,

Is it possible to have a notification sent, possibly to an e-mail address
when a change is made to a shared document?

I use spreadsheets to track issues and it would be useful to have an
automatic notification, rather than having to check the spreadsheet all the
time.

Any help would be appreciated.
