Notification of new e-mail

I no longer hear a tone when I receive a new e-mail message. I used to. I already tried the "Help" "Clip - it" It said to go into tools etc... I did but nothing... Has this happened to anyone else? Anyone know what else I can do?

Control Panel - Sounds and Multimedia - ensure you have a sound selected for
new mail notification. If the sound does not play, deselect it and try a
new one. If the new one does not work, check your sound card.

Or it may be as easy as uninstalling and reinstalling Office Sounds from
Office Downloads.

Thank you.. however, after trying everything... even uninstalling one of my popup blockers thinking maybe it started something, being the only thing I newly added. Well, I am ashamed to admit after checking all my cable connections I finally checked my speakers (not just on my screen, but the physical speaker) ... someone had turned them down! Duh!!! After turning them up, Ta Da sound! Thanks Again.

what does ROTFL mean?

Man, I have been there too -- I even took the speakers back to the store and
they gave me new even better ones. I got back home and realized the volume
was turned off via windows.
