Notification Times Out

A spreadsheet at my work is often being used by other employees. When I open
it it tells me the file is in use so I click on Notify so I know when it is
available. My problem is after about 30 to 45 minutes the spreadsheet will
close and disappear from the taskbar. The spreadsheet is located on one of
our file servers running Win 2003 Server. I run Win XP Pro and the version
of Office is 2003 SP2. Is there a way to set a limit on how long to wait for
the notification? I've never encountered this before.

About receiving notification of changes to a file or discussion
Some of the content in this topic may not be applicable to some languages.

The Subscription feature enables you to be notified by e-mail of any changes
made to a Web site. You can cancel a subscription at any time.

You can subscribe to an individual page or to all the pages (files) stored
in a folder on a Web server. When you subscribe to a page or a folder, your
discussion server notifies you on a scheduled basis if a file or folder is
modified, deleted, or moved, or even if a new file is created in that folder.
You can also be notified if a discussion comment is deleted from a file, or
if a new discussion comment is added.
