novell vs. windows authentication

We use Novell here and not Windows authentication. What
basic/critical fucntionality of Project Server are not available to us
in this environment? When I setup the account in project pro, I just
specify the Project Server account only.

Thanks,
Andy

Andy,

You will likely have problems (or not be able to use at all) using the documents, issues and risks components of the project server solution. These use Windows Sharepoint Services and rely on Windows authentication to integrate cleanly. If you want to use these features you'll run into problems.

If you don't care to use those features you'll need to spend some time trying to remove all the links from project web access the provide access to those - which is far easier said than done. Good luck.

Just a note on this - you can simply disable the Risks, Issues and Docs in
PWA.
Go to Admin/Server Configuration and then scroll down the features list to
the collaboration area. Select Deny for View Docs, View Risks and View
Issues, save changes and those tabs disappear.

Followup? Does "windows vs. novell" impact the email notifications?
We seemed confident that this was setup correctly, but it never
worked.

Thanks,
Andy
