novice question

I am an InfoPath novice. I have a form that I am creating that will submit
to a database. I have two issues to resolve.

1) I have a policy number text box on the form. When I test it and enter a
policy number, I get the invalid data message. I can't change the data type
because it is grayed out.

2)i have a notes field on a repeating table. When I type in the field and
tab out I get this message "Only text strings equal to or less than 30
characters allowed." I've tried to change the number of characters allowed
and can't.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

When you created your InfoPath solution, did you create it "from a data
connection" (i.e. from your database?) If so, then InfoPath is adhering to
the data rules/data types setup in your database.

If this is not the case, can you provide some additional details as to how
you created the InfoPath form?
