Novice Questions !

Hi All

I am a novice to web design, so any help you could give would realy help me
out.

I have just created my first web page, and it looks good on my pc, but on my
wifes it is too big to fit on the screen, we have different resolution
settings which i assume is causing this problem here are my questions
1. Is there a size of screen I should be aiming at fitting my page in?
2. How when i publish a page can i get it too centralize in the browser if
somebody is viewing it on a different resolution?

Place your content within a table with a single cell. You can set the table
to the width you need and that should constrain all the content (providing
the content of course doesn't exceed the width of the table).

A lot of sites are now targetting 1024x768, though there are still a number
of users out there with 800x600 resolutions. Basically I tend to figure out
the minimum normal size I want to support (say 800x600) and subtract 40
pixels from the width to give enough room for the vertical scrollbar and
edge of the browser (usually I do about 760 pixels)

Thanks for your answer, it worked great. My page can now be displayed in any
browser! The only problem is now if the screen is too small my page
disappears behind my menu buttons on the left, this frontpage stuff is
complicated!
