Now I have 2 "Personal Folders"

I finally got my old PST file into the re-install of Outlook XP. However,
now when I have my folder list on the left there are 2 sets of personal
folders and subfolders. The first is the new generic inbox, sent items,
deleted, etc.. After those I have my Personal Folders & subfolders that I
have been using all along. How do I get rid of the new default folders (my
email is going to the generic folder now)?

Thanks in advance... Bob

Hi Bob,
please go in the control panel under mail
there you pointed the Data files option.
In this tab you will see all your personal Folder files (pst)
And there you could delete the new one!

I am attempting to do that but I get an error message, "You may not delete
your default data file. You must select a different data file as your
default delivery location before deleting the current one. Go to
Tools/Email Accounts to select a different delivery location". I see no
applicable choices there.

The address book comes up fine (I had to reauthorize the folders for address
book status though), now it's asking me to authorize use of an email address
in my book for a specific amount of minutes. I'm uninstalling Office XP &
going back to 2000, I'll let you know how it turns out.

Reinstalled 2000. That went okay but I am still getting 2 sets of personal
folders with incoming mail naturally going to the wrong inbox. Help still
needed.

Help already posted.
He told you to create a new profile. Not reinstall. Your profile is corrupt.
