Nudging a column line to the exact point

I'm making a form with tables, and sometimes I try to drag the column line to
a precise point, but it jumps a little to the side of where I want it to be.
It seems as though it has to line up precisely on the ruler up-top. Is there
a way to nudge it to go exactly where I want it? Even better, is there a way
to select the column-line, and then move it left or right with the arrow
keys? Thanks.

If you press and hold the Alt key while you drag a table border, you can drag
it to exactly the position you want (the Alt key temporarily overrides the
grid settings). When you press the Alt key, you will also see the column
widths on the ruler. This is often helpful.

Alternatively, you can select Table > Table Properties > Columns tab and
type the measures you want.
