Nudging Autoshapes

If you hold down the ALT key while dragging with the mouse
it will turn off the snap to grid and will give you
absolute control over how much you ove the AutoShape.

But I don't believe Alt has any effect on nudging with the arrow keys, which
is what Len asked about.
