number formats

In ALL excel spread sheets, cells when entering numbers,
the cell formatsare using decimals. Example:
enter "2", ".2" is entered in the cell. How do I change
the format? It appears to be some sort of auto format.

Tools>Options>Edit, Uncheck Fixed decimal
