Hi
When I merge from Excel 2002 to Word 2002, the
records contains numerical figures. In excel the format
for the numbers is how I want it to be i.e. 100.80, but
when I do the merge into word it appears as 100.8.

Please help
Thanking you in advance

Typically Word will always drop trailing zeros and you will probably need to
use a numeric formatting switch to ensure that they are there.

For example, in Word, use Alt-F9 to reveal the field codes then change

{ MERGEFIELD mynumber }

to

{ MERGEFIELD mynumber \#",0.00" }

The format codes are documented in Word Help. However, that will only work
if "I always want 2 digits after the decimal point" is OK. If you really
want "exactly what you entered in Excel" it won't work.

Thanks
But I don't quite understand. The following is an example of my letter

Upon review of our files, we found that the above mentioned account has a balance owing of «TotalOwing_»

Where would the { MERGEFIELD mynumber \#",0.00" } go

Thanks

«TotalOwing_»

is just one of the ways Word displays the field codes it uses in a mail
merge main document.

To see the "rw" form of the field code, press Alt-F9. Instead of .

«TotalOwing_»

you should see something like

{ MERGEFIELD TotalOwing_ }

The { and } are special "field code braces" that you can insert if necessary
using ctrl-F9. All the other characters are ordinary characters you can type
on the keyboard. So you can type a space, followed by \#",0.00" after
"TotalOwing_". Then you can use Alt-F9 again to see

«TotalOwing_»

if you want.
