Number lists

L

list

Word 2002
I want to create a number list but seem to be having
problems.
I want the first level to function as 1.1, then 1.2 and so
on and then change to 2.1, 2.2 etc.
I then want the other levels to be configurations such as
i), (a), or even 1. for example.
Can someone tell me from scratch how to start to build a
new style that will work this way.

See http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numbering/OutlineNumbering.html. You'll
need to set up a dummy style to be Level 1 and contribute the top-level
numbering (1, 2, etc.). Since it will have to actually be numbered, you may
have to make it white or hidden.
