Number not recognized...

I am trying to automate a report, so to speak, but have
encountered a problem.

When I look at the exported data from one of the systems
that my company is using, it will show a negative dollar
value as 9.60-. The problem I'm encountering is I there
are also sales values, and this is an adjusted order
amount for returns, etc.

That said, when trying to create the total column at the
end, it's not recognizing this 9.60- to sum with the rest
of the values, so it automatically goes over to my if
(iserror.

Any ideas?

Michael, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I'm working
in the stone age here and am using XL97. I'm not seeing
the advanced button you speak of, so I'm assuming its not
in this version.

Any other ideas?
