Hi, I have a question regarding to PWA license:

From PWA - Server Settings - Enterprise Data - About Project Server, there
are 2 parameters: "Number of Active Project Server Users" and "Number of
Project Professional Users".
My question is, this Number is the number of total created user or the User
Number that allowed to concurrently logon to the PWA or Project Professional?

Thanks in advance,

JJin

Project Server 2007 counts all Work resources as users, whether or not these
represent actual human users of the system. It displays this number as the
“Number of Active Project Server Users†value. Therefore, if you use Work
resources to define machinery and equipment, you should deduct those users
from the number of licenses required.

Beyond this, the “Number of Project Professional Users†value is a subset of
the “Number of Active Project Server Users†value. In other words, of the
total Active Project Server Users, you must subtract the number of Project
Professional Users to determine your Web CAL requirements. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply, Dale. Does it mean, all resources including human
resources, material resources and Cost resources are countered as “license
needed active user"?"

Thanks in advance,

No; please re-read my original reply. The Number of Active Project Server
Users value is the count of all WORK resources. It does not include
Material or Cost resources, nor does it include Generic resources. Remember
that Work resources can include both people and equipment, so you will need
to deduct the number of Work resources that represent equipment.

The Number of Project Professional Users value represents the total number
of users who have the "Log on to Project Server from Project Professional"
permission set to Allow. By default, this includes every user in the
following security Groups:

Administrators
Portfolio Managers
Project Managers
Resource Managers

Hope this helps.

Dale,

I have a follow-on question. How can I get a list (SQL Qry or report) of
names for the Project 2007 Professional users that this page counts. You see
my line count and Project page differs by one. I want to know which people
they counted that I missed.

thanks, Mike

Hope this helps.
