Number of allowed installs

Last January I installed Office Pro 2007 on my computer.

I just recieved a desktop computer from my brother with Office Standard 2003
installed on it.

I know that some of Microsoft's products allow a program to be installed on
more than a single computer.

My question is...

Must I purchase another copy of Office Pro 2007 or am I allowed to do a
second install using my existing Office Pro 2007 disks?

There are a number of different packages of Office with different rules.

The package the rules in the agreement notice that you click OK on when
it installs, will tell you how many and under what conditions that specific
package is valid for.

you can install to 2 devices at the same time, BUT not 2 desktops. the
retail license terms call for you to apply the license to a designated device
and then you are allowed ot install to a portable (device) as well, at the
same time. thus the designated device can be a desktop or laptop and the
added device can only be a portable (laptop) device.

you can however, if the 2007 is not an OEM version, install to different
devices as many time as you want if you wait 90 days as long as it meets the
obove criteria.

I think that is a Vista related requirement not Office.

telling the OP how to circumvent the activation servers? ;-)

No, I remember something "special" in the licensing language of Vista
OEM for "PC enthusiasts" where you may "move the installation" no more
frequently than every 90 days.

Don't have a copy to hand, but I recall it being a major difference from
XP to Vista.

I have an OEM Vista Premium - nothing in the EULA about 90 days apart from
the limited warranty. And in any case, an OEM version can't BE "moved"
AFAIK....
