NUMBER OF MONTHS in EXCEL CALC

Hi

I don't know what's happening - I posted the request below
yesteday, a few people very kindly replied with some very
good ideas - when I went back inbto teh site to search for
them, they're not there under my name, one the one
response...really weird. My original request is below...

Hi

I need to find how to work out the total number of months
where I have a list of fixed start and end dates, always
beging on the first day and end on the last day of a
calendar month;

Start - 01/02/03
End - 30/09/09

The number needs to be returned as an integer ranging
between 1 and 12, though I'll be working on quarters, so
the number will be between 0 and 3 maximum...any ideas?
