I recently purchased 2 notebook computers for use at school by both myself in
college and my teen son for use at the Junior high school. A copy I saw in
the store showed that I could install the suit on three seperate computers.
I would like to know if I can use the same product key to register both of
the laptops for use by me and my son if I make the purchase online through
the demo package that came preinstalled on the computer.

You would be better to purchase the copy from amazon.com or another retailer
as it would be cheaper than licensing directly from Microsoft. That way you
will have the install DVD and won't have to worry about if it will activate
more than one copy. I have never purchase activation from Microsoft and
have asked previously on here for someone to post the beginning of the EULA
for an activated trial but no one ever has. I can't answer the question.
The only way you will be able to get a definitive answer contact Microsoft
for the EULA.

By the way, I see that Amazon.com currently has it for sale for $69.99 with
free shipping. You won't see MS beat that price. (If you purchase from one
of the other suppliers listed on Amazon.com at a cheaper price you will have
to pay shipping. I have never had an issue from Amazon.com directly.

As previously stated, buy H&S from the store or an online retailer,
uninstall any Trial versions and Activation Assistant on your PC's, reboot,
install purchased version.
H&S retail purchase is licensed for installation on 3 devices
