Number pages 1, 1A, 2, 2A in Word 2003

I'd like to create a facilitator guide that has instructor notes on one side
of a page and the class text on the other side….it would be like a book…the
left page would be 1 and the right side would be 1A. 1, 1A, 2, 2a, etc. Can
anyone tell me how to do this?

Thanks for your assistance!

If you're just printing both pages on a single sheet, you can easily just
put a PAGE field on each side, with A after one of them. If you're actually
using the "2 pages per sheet" option in Word, then you'll need to use
calculated fields, since Word will number the "pages" sequentially just as
if they were actual pages.

And, of course, if calculated page numbers are required these won't be
correctly reflected in (say) a table of contents or cross-reference.
