there are some numbering styles in microsoft word, such as:
1,2,3,...
i,ii,iii,...

how can I define a new number style that are not as default number

Why are you posting in more than one group - without even mentioning which
version of Word you're using? If you're using a Mac confine your inquiry to
this group & provide full details as to which specific version. If you're
using Word on Windows system continue to use that group, but they'll need
the same type of details there.

In the meantime you can start here:

No version of Word will enable you to increment more than one integer in a
list numbering scheme.

So: a, b, c, is fine: even AA, AB, AC can be done. But not "aa", "bb",
"cc".

Give us some detail of what software version you are using, and what you are
trying to do (how are you going to use this...) and we may be able to
suggest a way of doing it.

Cheers
