Number switching

Hi I just need to know if there's a way to enter " 2 / 59" without it changing to a date.

I'm trying to enter fractions but It keeps switching to dates.

Format the cell as Number or Fraction before you enter 5/9

Another option: If it's just for display & not to be used as a value you can
also type an apostrophe before the fraction to have it treated as text.
