Numbered headings replaced by Bullets.

Phil

I have a problem with Numbered headings having their
numbers replaced by bullets under Word 2003.

A document is created from a template on any pre-Office
2003 machine. Move that document to the Word2003 machine,
open it, make no changes then save it. Upon re-opening on
the Word03 machine the numbers will have been replaced
with bullets.

Before:

Heading 1 + indent: Left: 0cm, Hanging: 1.27cm, Tabs:
1.27cm, Left, Outline numbered + Level: 1 + Numbered
Style: 1, 2, 3, ... + Start at: 1 + Alignment: Left +
Aligned at: 0cm + Tab after: 0.63cm + Indent at: 0.63cm

After:

Heading 1 + indent: Left: 0cm, Hanging: 1.27cm, Tabs:
1.27cm, Left, Bulleted + Level: 1 + Aligned at: 0cm + Tab
after: 0.63cm + Indent at: 0.63cm

It seems that the "Outline numbered + Level: 1 + Numbered
Style: 1, 2, 3, ... + Start at: 1 + Alignment: Left" is
replaced with "Bulleted + Level: 1"

The template that has worked correctly for Office97
through OfficeXP. Why might this occur only on Word2003
instances? How might I correct this?

Thank you in advance for any assistance with this issue.

This is a first time post, so if i have missed out any
pertinent information for help diagnosing the problem just
let me know and I can post any additional relevant
information.

regards
phil

G'day "Phil" <[email protected]>,

Try setting the name of the list template using the More>>> option in
the Bullets and Numbering dialog accessed from the heading style
definitions.
