Version: MS Word 2003 and 2007
Hi, I am an experienced Word user and I have run into a problem over and
over again with numbered lists in long documents. I work with mostly long
manuals, 50 to 500 pages long. We use the numbered lists function to create
manuals. Pretty typical. Usually parts of the document have been submitted by
out of office authors with various styles used.
The big issue is that the numbered lists won't maintain continuity with tab
structure or number sequence.
For instance: (I have inserted periods to maintain the "tabs" as this text
box automatically moves the text to the left!)
I. Header 1
..... A. Header 2
.........1. numbered list
.........2. numbered list
......B. Header 2
.........3. numbered list (note list won't restart at #1)
.........4. numbered list
If I right click on "3" and apply the "start at" command, the tab structure
usually changes.
Since I have easily over a hundred of the numbered lists, this become a huge
issue.
Any add ons or techniques?
